The stylish String Shelf System white was designed by Nisse Strinning for the manufacturing label String.Strinning originally designed the shelf system in 1949 and its popularity and functionality means it is still produced to this day. Living and working in Sweden, Strinning was one of the leading mid-twentieth century designers who built the foundation of what is now known as Scandinavian design. The String Shelf System white impresses with its clean straight lines and minimalist appearance. Constructed of contrasting metal and wood, it is suitable for use in a range of applications such as within the living room, bedroom, hallway or dining room, or on a commercial basis such as within an office environment or in conference rooms. The shelving system offers many special features, such as a fold out table with dimensions of 96cm in width and 30cm in depth, two cabinets with sliding doors, a magazine rack plus, of course, lots of shelves. Because of the sliding doors and pull out table, the shelving system is particularly suited to rooms where space is limited. The String Shelf System white offers versatility in its ability to be either wall mounted or free standing.
